If you’re looking for a meaningful way to ring in 2021, Canadian Blood Services needs you.
Territory Manager, Elaine St. Pierre, says a clinic is being held for all residents of Simcoe County to donate at the Barrie office on New Year’s Day, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
She says there are many spots to be filled and there is a great need for blood, and especially platelets.
You do need to book an appointment at blood.ca or on the app.
Elaine St. Pierre says even though we are under lockdown, you are still being encouraged to come out and donate.
St. Pierre says Canadian Blood Services saw an influx of donations at the start of the pandemic because people wanted to do something to help and because they wanted to get out of the house.
She says they’ve seen a drop off since school started in September and urgently need people to come to the clinic on January 1st or make an appointment at the Barrie office which is open five days a week, by appointment only.
