Police are reminding everyone to celebrate the New Year safely.
Festive RIDE checks will continue across the province, with officers out on the roads targeting impaired drivers and ensuring the celebrations stay responsible.
Due to the province-wide shutdown, police are also reminding individuals that violating the Reopening Ontario Act can result in a fine of $880 and any individuals planning or organizing gatherings with people outside their immediate household are subject to a minimum fine of $10,000.
