A traffic stop in Tiny Township has resulted in drug charges.
On the morning of Wednesday, December 23, 2020, an OPP officer responded to a traffic complaint in Midland, where a vehicle was stopped on Fourth Street and the driver was arrested.
Police say during a search of the driver on the roadside an amount of methamphetamine was located and seized.
The driver was transported to the detachment where it was discovered that he was also breaching a previous court order.
As a result of this investigation, a 29 year old man (Ryan St. Amant) was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Failure to Attend for Fingerprints contrary to the Criminal Code
The accused was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on January 7, 2021
