With indoor recreation facilities now temporarily closed under the Ontario government’s lockdown orders, Owen Sound city officials are reminding about a series of trails maintained for use during the winter for people to take their exercise outdoors.
A statement from the city explains about 3.2 kilometres of looped trails are maintained at Harrison Park to provide accessible opportunities for the enjoyment of the outdoors.
“Trail users seeking maintained trails are encouraged to utilize trails within Harrison Park,” a release from the city explains. “Trail users seeking a more natural experience, or opportunities for cross country skiing and snowshoeing are encouraged to utilize trails throughout the local trail network when conditions allow.”
The Harrison Park Freedom, Island and Mile Drive trails are among those maintained for use in the winter. As are the Harrison Park campground roads and the Nine Bends trail.
