The Province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has charged a former Peel Regional Police detective in connection with a sexual assault said to have happened in Barrie back in 1992.
On August 25th, 2020 a woman reported to Peel police she’d been sexually assaulted by an officer in the summer of 1992.
The SIU invoked its mandate and have since announced that Paul Chisholm faces one count of sexual assault.
He’s to appear in Barrie court on January 11th.
The SIU won’t be commenting further while the matter is before the courts.
