The Collingwood Public Library will be altering its services due to the provincial lockdown on Boxing Day.
“With Collingwood entering lockdown, we will have to make some adjustments to library service to comply with Provincial protocols,” says Chief Executive Officer, Ken Haigh. “The library will remain open to pick up and drop off library materials, but other services will be suspended for the duration of the lockdown. We know this is disappointing to our patrons, but we hope it will just be a temporary measure.”
For the safety of patrons and staff, the Collingwood Public Library has implemented the following changes to service:
- Library will cease public browsing of our collection;
- Patrons can place holds online and pickup at the library;
- The library will be limited to six patrons at a time;
- Public access to computers will be closed;
- Bathrooms will remained closed.
Because the shelves are now closed for browsing within the library, we encourage patrons to place holds through the library’s website and collect their items from the public service counter.
The library also hosts many online activities. For songs and stories for children, tech help, author visits, yoga, book suggestions and more. Visit the Library’s Facebook page to interact with staff and the community.
