Fred Geberdt, a prominent member of the sporting fabric of Owen Sound & area, passed away on Tuesday.
Geberdt, a long time member of the Sydenham Sportsmen’s Club and a fixture as a derby chair or co-chair with the annual Salmon Spectacular, died after a prolonged battle with cancer.
While most associated with community conservation activities, Geberdt was well known as a teacher in the Bluewater Board of Education, where he primarily taught science.
Fred Wallace spoke with Fred Geberdt’s son, Chris, who offered special memories of his father.
