Brooke Henderson from Smith’s Falls, Ontario shot 1 over par and is tied for 37th
Alena Sharp of Brantford Golf and Country Club had a 75 on the opening day and is tied for 89th
Henderson tees off at 9:17 am while Alena Sharp is due to tee off at 10:01 am.

Hockey Canada Cuts
Team Canada released 7 players yesterday for the upcoming world junior hockey championship.
Among the cuts were forwards Tyson Foerster of the Barrie Colts, Cole Schwindt from Mississauga and Kingston’s Shane Wright
Ontario Hockey League goalies Brett Brochu of London and Tristan Lennox from Saginaw were also released
The World Junior Tournament commences in 2 weeks time in Edmonton, opening on Christmas Day.
Team Canada plays their first game on Boxing Day.
Soccer Notes
Paolo Rossi, who led Italy to the 1982 World Cup title has died. He was 64.
Rossi, who had been diagnosed with an incurable illness, died in his sleep at hospital
In 1982 Rossi returned from a suspension due to a betting scandal & scored 6 goals at the tournament in Spain, including a hat trick in a 3-2 win over Brazil and the opening goal in a 3-1 win over West Germany in the final.
Two Columbus Crew starters will miss the MLS Cup Championship Game tomorrow against Seattle.
Midfielders Darlington Nagbe and Pedro Santos were listed as medically not cleared to play.
Dombrowski Joins Phillies
Dave Dombrowski has been hired by the Philadelphia Phillies as president of baseball operations
An official announcement is expected today
Andy MacPhail is the Phillies’ current president and plans to retire after the 2021 season.
McPhail said in October he would be willing to step aside sooner to make way for a new baseball operations boss.
Philadelphia has gone 9 years without a winning record.
