The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says our area is edging closer to the red-control zone of the provincial COVID-19 Response Framework and now is the time to get new cases of the virus under control.
Dr. Charles Gardner, the health unit’s medical officer, said yesterday “I think this is a warning to us.”
He is once again encouraging residents to be vigilant and follow public safety measures, by limiting contact with people outside your immediate household.
The SMDHU reported 46 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
According to the province’s COVID-19 Response Framework, regions with a seven-day average of 40 or higher could be placed under red zone restrictions.
A new death related to the virus was also reported this week, a man under 35 from Bradford.
