A tip about a possible impaired driver in Midland turned into drug charges for a Penetanguishene man and others.
Monday morning, OPP investigated after a vehicle failed to stop for them on Vindin Street.
The suspect vehicle did later stop without incident at the entrance to Penetanguishene.
A number of OPP cruisers attended and blocked the northbound lane to provide safety for the officers assisting in the investigation.
The OPP’s Central Region K-9 Unit was also called in to assist in a vehicle search for drugs.
Police seized quantities of heroin and cocaine and over $3,000 in cash, plus drug paraphernalia.
The 36-year-old driver is charged with impaired driving by drug, dangerous operation of vehicle and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He’s scheduled for a court date in Midland on December 17th.
A 28-year-old Christian Island man and a 27-year-old Tay man were also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Both have future court dates in Midland.
