A South Bruce OPP officer is getting some thanks from the community and on social media for rescuing a Snowy Owl.
OPP say at about 10:30 Saturday morning (Dec 5) they received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 21 in the Municipality of Kincardine.
The responding officer arrived and found a Snowy Owl was stuck in the vehicle’s grille.
They say the owl had flown into the driver’s path causing minor damage to the vehicle and an injury to the owl’s wing.
The injured owl has been picked up by Another Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation service where it will be cared for. They take in injured and orphaned wildlife until they can be released back into the wild.
