Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton is taking part in a Giving Tuesday fundraising effort.
December 1st is Giving Tuesday, an annual global event that follows up Black Friday and Cyber Monday’s shopping events with an event focused on giving back to charities.
A release from Huron Shores Hospice says the Society of United Professionals has offered to match $1 for $1, all donations up to a total of $5,000.
Vice president of the Society, Mike Gade says in a statement, “The Society of United Professionals is pleased to support the important work being done by Huron Shores Hospice, looking after end-of-life care for the residents of south Bruce County. This is a valuable service for our local community. We are proud to support this initiative as a demonstration of our vision that unions build stronger communities.”
Co-Chair of Huron Shores Hospice Cheryl Cottrill says, with event fundraising dollars reduced by $55,000 in 2020, they’re hoping Giving Tuesday will help with their shortfall.
Cottrill says, “Please join us to help ensure quality end-of-life care for residents of south Bruce County by donating at www.huronshoreshospice.ca.”
