Public Health Grey Bruce says nine new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed yesterday. Three are in Kincardine, two are in Arran-Elderslie, one is in Hanover, one is in Grey Highlands, one is in Southgate and one is in West Grey.
With eight recoveries Monday, there are currently 50 confirmed active cases in the region. Public Health says there are seven active probable cases. Probable cases are not lab confirmed, but high-risk contacts of an active case, and also symptomatic.
There are 216 High Risk Contacts associated with the active cases.
No one is currently hospitalized due to the virus, which is an improvement, as yesterday there were three people hospitalized according to Public Health.
No one has died locally from the virus.
The Health Unit says one staff member at Golden Dawn Long-term care home in Lion’s Head, putting the home on the outbreak list until the staff member has recovered.

There are no outbreaks in schools or daycares in Grey Bruce.
Meanwhile, the Health Unit says it is working with Bluewater School Board to address a probable case of COVID-19 associated with Macphail Memorial Elementary School, in Flesherton.
they say A probable case is someone with a direct link with a positive COVID-19 case, who is experiencing symptoms and has not been tested.
Public Health says their assessment indicates the transmission did not take place within the school environment.
