COVID-19 has prompted the cancellation of festival events in Clinton and Seaforth.
The Seaforth Community Hospital Auxiliary has announced the cancellation of the Tree of Lights Celebration Event, scheduled for December 6th.
While the Celebration Event will not be happening this year, the tree will still be lit the evening of December 6th.
The Tree of Lights started in 1991 and has been an annual fundraising event organized by the Auxiliary. It is one of the Auxiliaries largest fundraisers, with $3,130 raised last year.
The Gift of Lights Committee for the Clinton Public Hospital Auxiliary has also made the decision to cancel the Gift of Lights Celebration Event, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Gift of Lights Celebration Event was scheduled for November 27th.
