OPP Constable Marc Hovingh is being laid to rest today.
The 28-year veteran of the OPP was killed in the line of duty last week, after responding to a call about an unwanted man on a property in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island.
He leaves behind wife Lianne and four children: Laura, Nathan, Elena and Sarah.
His private funeral service will begin at 1 o’clock this afternoon at Manitoulin Secondary School and will be livestreamed for viewing on the OPP’s Facebook page.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance at the funeral service will be strictly limited and by invitation only.
