The game tonight at Pittsburgh between the Baltimore Ravens ( 6 & 4 ) & the Steelers ( 10 & 0 ) has been switched to Sunday afternoon due to coronavirus issues with Baltimore.
This is the 2nd time the Steelers have been forced to adjust their schedule because of COVID-19 issues with opponents.
Their game at Nashville on October 4th against the Titans turned into a bye week when Tennessee was hit with an outbreak.
IF the game is played on Sunday — the Ravens will trade one short week for another.
The Ravens are scheduled to play Dallas on December 3rd.
Maradona Passes
Soccer legend Diego Maradona, who scored the “Hand of God” goal and led Argentina to the 1986 World Cup title has died.
Maradona died yesterday at age 60 of a heart attack, two weeks after being released from hospital following brain surgery.
The office of Argentina’s president said it will decree 3 days of national mourning.
Betting in Canada
Federal Justice Minister David Lametti is expected to introduce legislation to legalize single-event sports betting in Canada.
The move, according to some, would end prohibition on gambling that experts say has channeled billions of dollars into the black market.
The proposed government legislation, if passed, would allow gamblers to place a bet on the outcome of a single sports game as opposed to the parlay systems utilized by ProLine.
Camp Quarantine
Hockey Canada has shut down the National Junior Selection Camp at Red Deer, Alberta after 2 players tested positive for COVID-19
The players, coaches and staff at the camp have entered a 14-day quarantine.
Preparation & camp activities will be paused until December 6.
All the on-ice officials at the world junior men’s hockey championships in Edmonton this year will be from Canada.
Normally, the International Ice Hockey Federation referees and linesmen are from a wide variety of countries
The IIHF is limiting the pool of officials to the host country to reduce risk of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The World Under-20 Tournament is scheduled to begin on Christmas Day.
Sergachev Signs
The Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning announced a three-year deal with defenceman Mikhail Sergachev
Sergachev scored a 10 goals last season and suited up for all 25 of Tampa Bay’s playoff games, recording 10 points.
In the Ontario Hockey League, Sergachev played 2 seasons for the Windsor Spitfires, scoring 27 goals.
