RVH has officially opened its Regional Pandemic Response Unit (PRU).
The PRU is a 70-bed fully functioning field hospital which is a regional resource not just for RVH but Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, Georgian Bay General Hospital, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and Stevenson Memorial Hospital, in order to alleviate capacity challenges.
The PRU is not a unit for COVID patients, it is for a well-defined and specific patient population with an estimated discharge date of three to five days.
