A 28-year old veteran of the Manitoulin OPP has been killed in the line of duty.
Constable Marc Hovingh (age 52) was shot and killed on Thursday, after responding to a call about an unwanted person at a property just outside of Gore Bay.
A man at the scene was also shot and later died in hospital.
Constable Hovingh leaves behind his wife, Lianne, and children Nathan, Laura, Sarah and Elena.
The SIU has been called in to investigate.
