The Province is sending a message to Covid-19 rulebreakers at businesses.
Today Premier Doug Ford said Ontario is launching a multi-ministry team of inspection officers who will visit businesses in Toronto, Eastern Ontario, York Region and other areas to ensure safe Covid-19 practices are in place to keep staff and customers safe.
The campaigns will also have an education component.
“With the high numbers we’re seeing in some places we can’t afford to have workplaces that are unsafe, or, host large gatherings or parties,” said Ford. “Because this virus spreads like wildfire – it hurts your customers, it hurts your workers and it hurts your community.”
Ford adds that more public health restrictions will be released tomorrow which will “have to be tough” in the hardest-hit areas.
He says we can still head off the worst.
