Timberwolves Take Edwards
The Minnesota Timberwolves picked shooting guard Anthony Edwards from the Georgia Bulldogs with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft last night.
Edwards averaged 19.1 points for the Bulldogs, tops among all freshman.
The Toronto Raptors selected point guard Malachi Flynn from San Diego State with their first choice; 29th overall.
The 22 year old Flynn is considered to be undersized for a point guard but scouting reports indicate he plays bigger than his height.

Redblacks Return
The Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League will bring back general manager Marcel Desjardins, head coach Paul LaPolice and the majority of the football operations staff for 2021.
Desjardins has been Ottawa’s GM since the team’s inception in 2014
LaPolice, who won a Grey Cup as offensive co-ordinator of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019, hopes to coach his first game with the Redblacks next year
The Redblacks finished 3 & 15 in 2019.
Cano Canned
New York Mets second baseman Robinson Canó was suspended for 162 games by Major League Baseball after his positive test for a performance-enhancing drug.
Canó will miss the entire 2021 season and lose $24 million in salary.
The eight-time All-Star hit .316 with 10 home runs and 30 RBIs this year.
McDonald’s Mini Meet
The three day McDonald’s Mini Meet conducted by the Owen Sound Aquatic Club begins today.
Club members will compete at The Y Pool in time trial events tonight and tomorrow.
On Saturday, the older swimmers, aged 11 upwards, will be in a sanctioned meet.

The 81st Annual 560 CFOS Sun Times Christmas Fund Broadcast is Sunday, December 6th at 1pm.
