The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported two new Covid cases and two additional recoveries in the region Thursday.
According to Public Health, residents of West Grey and Kincardine tested positive.
Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says both acquired the virus outside of Grey Bruce. One related to travel outside the country, and the second was travel to a different health unit in Ontario.
As the region’s active known case load has risen to 15 this week due to new cases outpacing recoveries, Arra is urging the community to focus on wearing a mask, washing your hands and watching your distance.
“If seems people are not as careful as they’ve been before,” Arra says. “We can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the recent vaccine news. But, we all need to double down for the coming months. Keep washing hands, keep distance and keep wearing a mask correctly.”
No one is currently hospitalized in the region due to the virus. Over the course of the pandemic, there has not been any deaths attributed to Covid in Grey Bruce.
Grey Bruce does not have any outbreaks at long-term care or retirement homes, schools or daycares.
