Premier Doug Ford has asked Ontario’s public health experts to come back next week with a plan to begin easing restrictions in areas currently under the modified Stage 2.
Specifically, he wants them to come up with a plan that allows businesses there to operate safely after the current 28-day period is over.
It will be based in part on the latest Provincial modelling that suggests the spread of Covid-19 in the Province is slowing.
“So there’s a happy balance and we’ll find that happy balance with our health team,” said Ford.
The government will also, in the coming days, introduce legislation to extend the ban on commercial evictions to protect small business owners.
Addressing the full lockdowns happening in places like France, Ireland and Spain, Ford says he couldn’t have allowed that to happen here.
