The local forest school has been vandalized.
The Collingwood Free Spirit Forest and Nature School Program organizers say all three of their canvas prospector tents were slashed and ripped open, there is broken glass from the windows of the trailer and the sugar shack, a partially burned canvas tarp and their flag was sliced and set on fire.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the school further says the kids’ forts are dismantled, broken and scattered around and their obstacle/low ropes course was cut down.
They say there is thousands of dollars in damage.
“Needless to say, we’re gutted.” “We are extremely hurt and we are choosing to forgive.”
The school says, “We will continue to pour ourselves into rebuilding so that we can continue to provide meaningful services and programs for our growing community.”
