An Orillia man is facing charges including flight from police after two separate incidents.
On October 13th, OPP observed two people in a vehicle violating the terms of their release.
They stopped the vehicle in Severn, but the driver drove off, forcing an officer to jump out of the vehicle’s path.
On October 19th the driver who fled turned herself in to Orillia OPP.
Turns out the passenger had also been involved in an incident in Orillia on October 8th, where he fled from police in his vehicle.
In that incident, an officer tried to stop a motor vehicle on Regent Street but the driver drove up on a curb to evade police and fled.
Police say he’s still outstanding and is wanted on multiple charges.
28-year-old Bracebridge resident Justine Docherty is charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, flight from police, dangerous driving and assaulting a peace officer with a weapon.
25-year-old Kaleb Saastamoinen of Orillia is charged with flight from police, three counts of failure to comply with a release order, two counts of failure to comply with a probation order, two counts of failure to comply with a release order, operation while prohibited, flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Docherty was held for a bail hearing in Bracebridge on October 20th.
Saastamoinen remains at large and is wanted on all the charges listed above.
