The Municipality of Kincardine is mourning the loss of its Deputy Mayor, Marie Wilson. Wilson passed away after a battle with cancer on Saturday. She was 64 years old.
Wilson was elected to Kincardine Council in 2018 and was appointed as Deputy Mayor after receiving the highest number of votes in the At Large race.
Mayor Anne Eadie says Wilson had many talents from serving on Council to her newspaper and OPG days as well as her various life experiences as a wife, mother, friend, business partner and community supporter.
A statement from the Municipality says the regularly scheduled Council meeting for tonight, (Oct 19th) has been cancelled in order to honour and respect Wilson’s memory and to give Council and Staff time to grieve. This meeting will be rescheduled at a future date.
