Some sections of a major downtown Owen Sound street will be closed this evening for the installation of the City’s historic Noma Lights for the holiday season.
Noma produced Christmas decorations at its Owen Sound factory from 1947-1963.
City Parks & Open Space staff close sections of 2nd Avenue East at roughly the following times on October 15th:
700 block: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
800 block: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
900 block: 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
1000 block: 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
The City says it’s doing the installation during the evening so there will be minimal disruption to traffic and downtown businesses. It notes, all intersections will remain open throughout the installation period.
