Don’t worry, there are plenty of flu shots for everyone.
That’s the message from Ontario’s health minister, following reports of flu shot shortages at some pharmacies.
Lineups have been reported outside pharmacies after the flu vaccine was distributed across the province and some reported quickly running out of stock due to increased demand for the flu shot during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Christine Elliot said yesterday that the province has a “good supply” and members of the public “should not be concerned.”
She said the bulk of the first shipments were sent to hospitals, long-term care homes, and retirement homes to protect the most vulnerable members of the population.
Elliott said while some pharmacies may not have any supply available at the moment, more are on the way.
