The provincial government has announced new help for small businesses.
It says Ontario’s Main Street Recovery Plan includes a one-time grant of up to $1,000 for eligible main street small businesses in retail, food and accommodations.
It is also for other service sectors with two to nine employees to help offset the unexpected costs of personal protective equipment (PPE).
The government will spend a total of 60 million dollars for the grants.
There is also help for small businesses to grow online and to access information and help from Ontario’s 47 Small Business Enterprise Centres.
At a news conference at Queen’s Park this morning, Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction, Prabmeet Sarkaria, confirmed that the Ford government is working on the necessary legislative changes to permanently allow restaurants and bars to add beer, wine and spirits to takeout orders going forward.
