A six-figure grant to fight human trafficking in Huron and Perth counties is being put to good use.
The Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society received a $100 thousand Ontario Trillium Foundation grant in late 2025, meant to develop training to help identify human trafficking in the two counties.
Children’s Aid partnered with Victim Services Perth Huron and Pursuit Pathways, in developing a learning program for early identification of human trafficking, trauma-informed and culturally safe responses, digital exploitation, referral pathways and supports for youth who may be at greater risk.
“This investment gives us the opportunity to build practical tools and shared knowledge across our community so that the people who work with young people every day are better equipped to recognize concerns, respond safely, and connect youth with the right supports,” says Kristian Wilson, Executive Director, Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society.
