The Meaford Scarecrow Invasion Parade & Family Festival goes this evening.
It’s the 30th anniversary of the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and organizers are inviting you to enjoy Friday’s festivities. There will be a parade along Sykes Street in downtown Meaford at 6 p.m., and then a family festival begins at the Rotary Harbour Pavilion at 6:30 p.m.
Food, entertainment, vendors and free children’s activities are planned for the family festival at the Meaford Harbour.
There will be a road closure on Sykes Street between Bayfield and Berry Streets, between 5:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. this evening, for the parade.
The Meaford Scarecrow Invasion is an annual autumn event, when business owners and residents display scarecrows outside and in windows. The scarecrow displays are intended to reflect Meaford’s agricultural heritage.
