Provincial Police have provided an update on their search at Wiarton’s Bluewater Park.
The OPP say the search conducted yesterday was related to a historical investigation, and “despite a thorough examination” it did not produce any relevant results.
There was a significant police presence at Bluewater Park on Tuesday and an area near the campground office was fenced off, as crews were using an excavator to dig into the ground.
The OPP say they will not confirm the specific historical investigation out of respect for the family’s privacy.
“There is no concern for public safety,” OPP say in a social media post. “The OPP would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation.”
