Huron County will be well-represented at a garlic festival in the province’s capital.
The 15th annual Toronto Garlic Festival runs this weekend, with savoury garlic dishes, garlic beer and cocktails, and garlic-themed contests.
Dublin’s Matt & Erica’s Garlic are attending this year’s festival, their second straight.
“We were there last year, Erica found it on the internet,” says co-owner Matt Neubrand.
“We love it down there. We sold a lot of garlic to everyone.”
The Toronto Garlic Festival showcases garlic grown by producers across Ontario, selling numerous varieties.
Neubrand says Matt & Erica’s Garlic is selling two varieties this year.
“German red, it’s a little spicier,” Neubrand tells Country 104.9 News.
“We also have music garlic. Some of these bulbs are bigger than a baseball. You only need a couple cloves.”
The Toronto Garlic Festival runs September 27th at the city’s Alan Gardens from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
