The International Plowing Match & Rural Expo (IPM) is back in Bruce County for the fourth time as they mark their 50th event.
The 2026 Bruce County IPM is being held in Walkerton and is set to get underway next Tuesday, Sept. 22 and runs through Saturday, Sept. 26.
Entertainment will take place across three stages as visitors can expect a diverse mix of live bands, solo singers, musical performances and dancing, creating an atmosphere that will keep the IPM grounds lively from day to night. 36 artists will perform with 90 per cent being from Bruce County.
Other events include combine demolition derby, dancing tractors, and other track contests.
Former Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker is involved with the 2026 local committee for the International Plowing Match & Rural Expo, and is particularly interested in the dancing tractors.
“It’s a really unique showcase of something that was started in Bruce County,” says Walker. “And it really is quite a performance to see how they actually coordinate eight farmall tractor that are going in different directions to different music, called to a square dancing song, it really is a highlight.”
