Speeding charges exceeded all others during a Labour Day police blitz in Huron County.
This year’s traffic safety education and enforcement campaign targeted the “Big Four” bad driving behaviours: aggressive driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
Between September 4th and 7th, Huron OPP say they charged 52 drivers with speeding, similar to figures in Perth (55), Norfolk (53), and Elgin (52).
Essex County led the way for speeding charges, at 165.
Three impaired driving charges were laid in Huron County, well behind Essex County’s fourteen.
Huron OPP laid no charges for seatbelt, distracted driving, or stunt driving incidents.
