The City of Owen Sound and Bruce County are hosting a household hazardous waste events on Sept. 12.
Owen Sound’s will be at the Public Works Facility, 1900 20th St. E., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Bruce Counties will be at the Lucknow Bruce County Yard (545 Ludgard Street) from 8 a.m. to noon.
To attend the Owen Sound event you must have an ID from City of Owen Sound, Township of Chatsworth, Township of Georgian Bluffs, Municipality of Grey Highlands, or Municipality of Meaford.
Residents attending the Owen Sound event are asked to bring valid ID showing a home address from one of the participating municipalities listed below and to complete the Household Hazardous Waste Form ahead of time at OwenSound.ca/WasteForm.
Bruce Counties requires containers to be 30 litres or smaller. Waste must be brought in disposable containers that staff will not empty or return (e.g., gas cans will not be returned).
Hazardous waste from commercial, industrial, or farm operations cannot be accepted at either. A full list of accepted materials is available at OwenSound.ca/Waste and www.brucecounty.on.ca/hazardouswaste.
