Huron County will continue to have a voice at the provincial level.
County officials announced Chief Administrative Officer Meighan Wark has been re-elected to the Board of Directors for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO).
AMO is a non-profit organization representing 444 municipalities across Ontario,. meant to strengthen their collective voice and ensure the perspectives of cities, towns, rural communities and northern municipalities inform provincial and federal decision-making.
Wark’s appointment happened at the latest AMO conference in Ottawa.
The County of Huron joins AMO in calling for action on municipal priorities that affect communities across Ontario, including:
- Long-term, predictable infrastructure funding to support housing, economic growth and the infrastructure communities need
- Full provincial funding for health and social services that are provincial responsibilities
- Coordinated action and investment from all orders of government to address Ontario’s growing homelessness crisis
