Three municipalities in Huron County will have their top elected officials acclaimed in the October 26th municipal election.
Staff at town halls across Ontario certified nominees Monday for the fall election, with contests for Mayor or Reeve in six of Huron County’s nine municipalities.
Marg Anderson will be acclaimed as Mayor of Central Huron when polls close October 26th, while Doug Hargrave will be acclaimed as Reeve of Howick Township, and Jamie Heffer will be named Mayor of Morris-Turnberry.
North Huron leads the county in the number of candidates running for Reeve, at four.
Three candidates each are running to be the Mayor of South Huron and Huron East.
Goderich, the Municipality of Bluewater, and Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh each have two candidates vying for their region’s top job.
