Collingwood Council has endorsed the Sustainable Collingwood Plan, which outlines goals to reduce emissions, expand transportation options, improve building resilience, protect natural areas, and support climate action.
The Plan includes a community-wide goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% below 2019 levels by 2040. It was developed using local data, and community input.
To achieve these goals, the Plan focuses on four strategic areas: retrofitting buildings, supporting more sustainable and clean transportation, the protection of natural areas and finally a climate-ready local economy and community culture.
