Bruce Power and its supplier partners are contributing to community-led health and wellness initiatives.
The power company and its partners are giving $150,000 to Noongwa Wellness.
Located in Neyaashiinigmiing within the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, Noongwa Wellness is transforming healthcare delivery by creating an Indigenous-owned and operated family medicine and wellness facility.
Since its launch, Noongwa Wellness has been working toward its goal of providing integrated, culturally-grounded care in a welcoming environment that honours the connection between culture, community, and healing.
The program’s inaugural physician is Dr. Elisa Levi, who is a member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
The Chair for Noongwa Wellness, Robin Jones, said that the continued support from Bruce Power and its partners are helping the program to move closer to providing a meaningful service to the community.
