The Owen Sound Minor Lacrosse Association (OSML) is proud to recognize six North Stars athletes who have earned the opportunity to represent Team Ontario this summer. Those players are Brady Snow (U15 Minor Box), Ella McCoubrey and Ryann Seaman (U19 Women’s Field), Quinn Norton and Olyvia Wagner (U15 Women’s Field), and Ireland Grimsted (U13 Women’s Field).
Brady Snow and Team Ontario’s U15 Minor Box squad will compete at the 2026 Lacrosse Canada Minor Box National Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from August 11 to 15, 2026. Competition begins on Tuesday, August 11, when Team Ontario faces Team First Nations at 10:00 a.m. The team will then take on Team Saskatchewan on August 12 at 2:30 p.m. before concluding round-robin play against Team New Brunswick on August 13 at 3:00 p.m. Championship playoffs will be held August 14 and 15, with the gold medal-winning team capturing both the national title and the Commissioners Trophy.
Ella McCoubrey and Ryann Seaman recently helped Team Ontario U19 earn a bronze medal at the U19 Women’s Field Lacrosse National Championship, the Jenny Kyle Cup, held July 27-29 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Team Ontario finished round-robin play with victories over Manitoba (20-5) and Saskatchewan (16-7), while falling to British Columbia (23-12) and Alberta (16-11). In the bronze medal game, Ontario defeated Manitoba 23-4.
Seaman finished third in team scoring, recording eight goals and two assists in five games for an average of two points per game. McCoubrey contributed four goals and two assists, averaging 1.2 points per game throughout the tournament.
Ireland Grimsted, Quinn Norton, Olyvia Wagner, and Brady Snow also participated in the Ontario Lacrosse Association’s Summer Sixes event on July 15 in Oshawa. Summer Sixes brings together Team Ontario box and field athletes in the U13 and U15 age divisions to compete in the fast-paced sixes format, which is scheduled to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Summer Games.
Norton also competed with the 2025 Team Ontario U13 squad, the team she represented last summer, at the Girls Lacrosse World Series Championship held July 2 and 3 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Competing in the 13U division, Team Ontario faced strong opposition and finished with a 0-5 record, falling to Storm Select (Florida), Legacy Lacrosse (New York), Tradition 2031 Blue (New York), Gold Coast 31 Black (Connecticut), and True Lacrosse Dynamite (Pennsylvania).
Looking ahead, Norton and Wagner will continue representing Team Ontario this fall, participating the IWLCA Leaders Cup in Richmond, Virginia on November 7-8 before travelling to the IWLCA Debut Cup on November 21-22 in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Grimsted and Team Ontario’s U13 Girls team will compete at the IWLCA Leaders Cup in Richmond, Virginia on November 7-8 before travelling to Tampa Bay, Florida, on December 5-6 for the National Cup Showcase Tournament.
