A Hanover resident has been charged following a traffic stop over the long weekend.
On Aug. 1 at approximately 11:12 p.m., the South Bruce OPP conducted a radar patrol along Highway 9 in the Municipality of Brockton and observed a vehicle speeding.
During the traffic stop, officers observed signs of impairment and placed the driver under arrest.
The driver has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, driving a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, and speeding 1 to 49 km/h over the posted limit.
The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on Sept. 9.
The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
