Thanks to the deployment of a spike belt, OPP were able to nab a car thief within 45 minutes of the crime.
OPP in Huntsville say the brazen theft occurred this morning around 9:30 when a male suspect demanded car keys from a citizen. The suspect then fled the area at a high rate of speed.
Officers from several OPP detachments got involved in the pursuit and the vehicle was located travelling south on Hwy 11 near Canning Road in Gravenhurst.
The suspect was arrested, there were no injures and the investigation is ongoing.
