Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP are warning of a new scam involving Bell.
Scammers are emailing or phoning customers, posing as Bell reps and eventually having the victims click on a link from the computer allowing the scammers access to banking and other sensitive areas.
The reason for the call or email could be anything – the key is determine whether it’s a legitimate contact.
Having two-factor authentication saved one local victim when scammers attempted to take $1100 out of his account.
