Hydro One is closer to choosing a route for a new power transmission corridor that will run from just outside of Barrie to Sudbury.
Initially, they were studying an area about 100 kilometers wide, but that’s been narrowed down to about 40 kilometers
The potential route include parts of Muskoka and Parry Sound Districts , as well as parts of Severn, Oro-Medonte, Springwater and Essa. There’s a virtual open house Monday night between 6 and 7 pm.
They also have in-person sessions planned in Georgian Bay Township , Bala, Midhurst and Coldwater.
Hydro One hopes to have the line in service by 2032.
