Huron County had the second-highest rate for commercial vehicle drivers charged with improper permits or plates, in a campaign from OPP.
Between July 12th and 18th, West Region OPP laid 143 charges across 13 detachment areas, targeting the lead contributing factors in commercial motor vehicle (CMV) collisions, such as speeding, improper lane changes, and following too closely.
During that time, the Huron County detachment laid four charges related to permits, plates, and commercial driver’s licenses, just shy of five in Essex County, and tied with Elgin and Middlesex.
Two seatbelt related charges were laid against commercial vehicle drivers, along with one charge each for speeding and distracted driving.
