Some roof repairs are going to be undertaken at Hanover’s P&H Centre.
The southern Grey County town’s council recently awarded a $122,000 contract to Nedlaw Roofing to replace a 5,600 square-foot section of the P&H Centre roof.
It was the lowest of four bids received, and well below the $320,000 budgeted by the town for the project.
A town staff report says consultants were retained in 2024 to inspect the multi-use recreation facility’s roof after reports of ongoing leaks. Several issues were identified in the roof area above the second-floor exercise area and walking track, including fastener holes, punctures and bulge spots from lifting insulation boards.
The 5,600 square-foot roof section being replaced is 16 years old, and original to the 2010 building.
Hanover Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture Laura Christen says construction is expected to start in October.
