The U9 Matt Brown Nicol Insurance NorthStars completed an undefeated season by bringing home gold at the U9A OWFL Provincials on Sunday at Rim Park in Kitchener.
The NorthStars battled through two hard-fought games, first against the Oshawa Lady Blue Knights and then in the gold medal game against the Orangeville Northmen. Both teams came ready to compete and refused to let Owen Sound dominate, making every loose ball, every defensive stand, and every goal hard-earned.
The NorthStars downed the Northmen 16-7 in the final. Camille Spencer, Tenley Scott and Elliot Brown paced Owen Sound’s offence, scoring four goals each.
The girls showed tremendous resilience, determination, and teamwork, rising to the challenge when it mattered most. Their commitment to one another and relentless effort all season long led to the ultimate reward—provincial gold.
