The Municipality of Grey Highlands has temporarily closed the Rocklyn Arena following findings from an independent environmental assessment that revealed mould and poor indoor air quality.
Municipal officials say the closure is a preventive measure to avoid potential exposure while further assessments and remediation planning are underway.
The assessment was conducted by an independent occupational health and safety consultant.
All affected renters and user groups have been contacted, and municipal staff are helping make alternative arrangements so planned events and activities can proceed with minimal disruption.
The municipality is working with remediation specialists to address the issues identified in the report.
