Smoke from wildfires in northwestern Ontario countine to cause very poor air quality and reduced visibility. Conditions are expected to improve for a few hours later this morning or afternoon. However poor air quality may return tonight.
The Air Quality Health Index is forecast to remain at high to very high risk, with seniors, young children, pregnant people and those with heart or lung conditions most at risk.
Residents are encouraged to stay indoors when possible, keep windows closed, use air filtration if available, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity.
Anyone experiencing serious breathing problems or chest pain should seek immediate medical attention.
