A 26-year-old man is facing charges after a stolen vehicle investigation in Hanover.
On July 15th, police received several calls involving a stolen vehicle.
At around 9 pm, witnesses saw a man steal a vehicle on 7th Street, driving at a high rate of speed in the town, and failing to stop at a stop sign.
The vehicle eventually stopped at the intersection of 11th Avenue and 8th Street, where the suspect exited the moving vehicle and ran away. He then entered a nearby home that was found to have an unlocked rear door.
After being confronted by the homeowner, the fled again into the backyard, and was then found by police officers.
The suspect is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation, failure to stop after an accident, breaking and entering into a house to commit an indictable offence, and three counts of mischief under $5,000.
The suspect is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
